Patrick Reardon is the NMR Facility Director in the Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics at Oregon State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Duke University in 2011 and completed postdoctoral research at the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. His research applies nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy to structural biology, focusing on intrinsically disordered proteins, membrane-associated ferlin C2 domains, and phase separation in SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid proteins. Recent work includes studies on Hsp90 nitration, LC8-mediated 53BP1 oligomerization, and kombucha microbial community dynamics. He received a 2023 NSF MRI award for helium recovery equipment and collaborates with institutions across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
