Carol Tenopir is a Chancellor’s Professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She earned her PhD in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s degree from California State University, Fullerton. Her research focuses on scholarly communication, data management practices, and the evolving information behaviors of early career researchers, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Recent publications examine pandemic-era changes in researchers’ career prospects, peer review attitudes, and the perceived benefits and barriers of open data sharing. She has served as Fulbright-Nokia Distinguished Chair in Information Technologies and leads international collaborations spanning the US, UK, Australia, France, Poland, China, and Finland.
