Zoe Arvanitakis is a Senior Professor at Rush University, where her research focuses on the neurobiology of aging, Alzheimer’s disease, and related dementias. Her work integrates clinical neurology with neuropathology to investigate cognitive impairment, mixed neurodegenerative pathologies, and sex-specific risk factors. Recent studies examine vascular inflammation via PLA2G4A as a drug target, cholesterol-induced cellular senescence in APOE4 carriers, and the contributions of diabetes and cardiovascular health to dementia. Her publications appear in leading journals, including Alzheimer’s & Dementia, Neurology, and Annals of Neurology, advancing precision approaches to dementia diagnosis and therapy.
