Ziyi Li is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research integrates cell biology, developmental biology, and genetics to investigate hematological malignancies, particularly leukemia and myeloid neoplasia, alongside gene expression regulation. Recent breakthroughs include identifying single-cell RNA sequencing biomarkers that predict late progression to CDK4/6 inhibition in metastatic breast cancer (Molecular Cancer, 2025), and demonstrating long-term engraftment of human stem cells in engineered pigs for large-scale immune cell production (Nature Biomedical Engineering, 2025). Her work also spans zygotic genome activation via NAT10, spatial transcriptomics statistical methods (PoweREST), and ultra-high dose rate irradiation toxicity, reflecting broad international collaborations across oncology and regenerative medicine.
