Associate Prof
Young Lee is an Associate Professor at San Diego State University, where his research spans materials science, chemical engineering, and molecular biologyhol. His work integrates nanotechnology, biophysics, and biochemistry to investigate gene expression, protein science, and membrane signaling mechanisms. Recent publications include the copper-catalyzed atroposelective synthesis of axially chiral diaryl ethers (ACS Catalysis, 2024), single-molecule oligonucleotide detection with the fluorescent nucleobase analogue ABN (Chemical Science, 2024), and the structural basis of Qng1-mediated queuine salvage (Nucleic Acids Research, 2023). He received the 2022 NSF CAREER Award for research on signaling reactions on membranes. His extensive international collaborations span institutions in the US, UK, Singapore, China, South Korea, and Denmark.
