Younan Xia is a Professor, Brock Family Chair, and GRA Eminent Scholar in Nanomedicine at the Georgia Institute of Technology, with joint appointments in Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Harvard University (1996) following an M.S. from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from USTC. His research centers on colloidal nanocrystal synthesis, including shape-controlled growth, plasmon-induced hot-electron generation, and thermal stability of sub-2 nm catalytic particles. He has pioneered scalable methods for silver nanocubes and phase-controlled growth on seeds, with applications in photochemistry and oxygen reduction. An Associate Editor of *Nano Letters*, Xia holds multiple NSF grants and collaborates extensively across the US, Asia, and Europe.
