Yixin Yao is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on the biology and therapy of mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), with particular emphasis on resistance mechanisms, therapeutic targets, and tumor immunology. His recent work has identified the HSP90-MYC-CDK9 network as a driver of therapeutic resistance, characterized the role of TCA cycle mode switching in pirtobrutinib-tolerant persister cells, and demonstrated that BCL-2/BCL-XL dual inhibition triggers Gasdermin D-mediated pyroptosis. He has also explored BTK and MALT1 cotargeting to overcome BTK inhibitor resistance, and developed integrative profiling strategies for personalized MCL therapy. His findings have been published in Blood, Journal of Clinical Investigation, and Cancer Letters.
