Yasir Y. Elamin, MD, is an Associate Professor and Thoracic/Head and Neck Medical Oncology Fellowship Director at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on drug resistance mechanisms in EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including the identification of a novel keratin 17+ drug-tolerant persister population, and on liquid biopsy correlates, such as circulating tumor DNA methylation, to predict outcomes in ALK-rearranged NSCLC. He leads trials evaluating next-generation RET inhibitors and developing multimodal digital twin frameworks for treatment response prediction. He has contributed to clinical practice guidelines on oligometastatic NSCLC and published on immunotherapy associations in pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma.
