Xiaoping Su is a Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he leads research at the intersection of tumor biology, cancer genomics, and molecular oncology. His work focuses on the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms driving hematologic malignancies and solid tumors, with particular emphasis on resistance mechanisms in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and cooperative genetic events in p53-mutant breast cancer progression. Recent breakthroughs include identifying highly effective combinations of BRG1/BRM inhibitors with BET inhibitors or decitabine for high-risk MECOM-rearranged AML, and elucidating TFE3 fusion-driven oxidative metabolism and ferroptosis resistance in translocation renal cell carcinoma. His publications appear in leading journals including Blood, PNAS, and EMBO Molecular Medicine, and his research integrates artificial intelligence-assisted diagnostics with translational therapeutic development.
