Woo Cheal Cho

Woo Cheal Cho is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on anatomical pathology, dermatopathology, and tumor biology, with a particular emphasis on skin cancer and oncogenic drivers. His recent work has advanced the molecular characterization of melanocytic lesions, including gene fusions in melanomas and deep penetrating nevus-like tumors, and the identification of novel fusions such as MYADM::PRKCG in cellular dermatofibroma. He has also contributed to the understanding of YAP1 expression in metastatic acral melanoma and MAPK pathway mutations in dedifferentiated melanomas. His publications appear in leading journals, including The American Journal of Surgical Pathology and the American Journal of Dermatopathology.
