Wendy A. Woodward is a Professor in the Department of Breast Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research focuses on the tumor biology of inflammatory breast cancer, particularly the molecular mechanisms driving brain metastasis, including the soluble E-cadherin-CXCL1-CXCR2 axis and serum S100A8/S100A9 as predictive biomarkers. She also investigates immunology and myeloid cell function, notably the role of cholesterol efflux protein ABCA1 in anticancer immunity. Her recent work explores therapeutic vulnerabilities such as AURKA inhibition in ER+ inflammatory breast cancer and neoadjuvant combinations of sacituzumab govitecan with pembrolizumab in early-stage triple-negative breast cancer. A senior leader in breast oncology, she has published extensively in venues including Neuro-Oncology, Science Advances, and Clinical Cancer Research, and maintains active international collaborations advancing translational cancer research.
