Weiva Sieh is a Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where her research focuses on cancer genetics, ovarian cancer susceptibility, and molecular epidemiology. Her work integrates genetic epidemiology with tumor biology to elucidate risk factors and survival determinants in gynecologic malignancies. Recent breakthroughs include exome sequencing identifying HELB as a novel susceptibility gene for non-mucinous, non-high-grade-serous epithelial ovarian cancer, and pooled consortium analyses examining tumor sex hormone receptor expression, diet, and survival outcomes. She also applies transcriptome-wide association studies and long-read RNA assemblies to breast cancer risk, alongside investigations of vitamin D-related variants in prostate cancer among Black men. Her collaborative research spans international consortia, including the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium, advancing precision prevention and therapeutic strategies.
