Vladimir Chernyak is a Professor and Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at Wayne State University, where he also holds a primary appointment in Chemistry. He earned his M.Sc. from the Moscow Physics and Technology Institute (1979) and his Ph.D. from the Russian Academy of Sciences (1983). His research spans quantum mechanics, physical chemistry, and applied mathematics, with recent work focusing on multidimensional spectroscopy with entangled-photon beams, pathway selectivity in two-dimensional electronic-vibrational spectroscopy, and the theory of X-states in quantum information. His 2025 publications appear in *Physical Review Letters*, *Laser & Photonics Review*, and *The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters*. He has received major NSF-funded awards for exciton scattering approaches and nonlinear surface-selective spectroscopies, and collaborates extensively with institutions across the US, Russia, China, Singapore, Germany, and Japan.
