Viktoriia Babicheva is an Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico, where she leads research in nanophotonics, plasmonics, and Mie-resonant metaphotonics. She earned her B.S. and M.S. from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and her Ph.D. from the Technical University of Denmark in 2013. Her current work focuses on multipole-engineered metasurfaces, MXene nanoantenna arrays with collective multipole resonances, tunable electro-optic resonant metasurfaces, and temperature-independent thermal radiation control using phase-change materials. She was awarded a 2024 NSF LEAPS-MPS grant for research on Mie-resonance metasurfaces and has received grants from the U.S. Department of Energy and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). She serves as Principal Editor for MRS Advances and collaborates extensively with institutions across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
