Usha Sambamoorthi is a Senior Professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Her research examines health services research, health policy, and mental health, with a focus on geriatrics and cancer care. Her recent work applies artificial intelligence and machine learning to public health, including predicting mental health outcomes through AI-driven speech analysis and natural language processing of social media data. She has also investigated substance use disorders, specifically the combined use of marijuana and opioids among adults with chronic conditions, alongside health services research on Medicare claims and telehealth utilization.
