Theresa A. Guise is a Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of bone metastasis, particularly in breast and thyroid cancers, alongside bone metabolism, osteoporosis, and the skeletal complications of cancer therapies. Recent work includes investigating low-intensity vibration combined with zoledronate for musculoskeletal weakness, characterizing RAS-driven follicular-derived thyroid cancers, and elucidating how activating RET mutations promote osteoblastic bone metastases. She has contributed to international consensus statements on managing aromatase inhibitor-associated bone loss and endocrine disorders induced by checkpoint inhibitors, reflecting her leadership in translational oncology and global collaborative research.
