Ted S. Acott is a Senior Professor at Oregon Health & Science University. His research integrates ophthalmology, biomechanics, and cell biology, focusing on the trabecular meshwork and the mechanobiology of glaucoma. Recent work employs traction force microscopy and advanced imaging to elucidate how matrix stiffness, cytoskeletal dynamics, and actin-microtubule synergy drive collagen reorganization and aqueous humor outflow resistance. His 2025 publications also address aging effects on ocular biomechanics and develop iPSC-based protocols for trabecular meshwork cell replacement.
