Susan Bullman is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research integrates clinical microbiology, oncology, and immunology to investigate the role of the tumor microbiome in cancer pathogenesis, with a particular focus on colorectal cancer. Her recent work has demonstrated that tumor-infiltrating bacteria disrupt cancer epithelial cell interactions and induce cell-cycle arrest, and that secretory IgA dysfunction underlies poor prognosis in *Fusobacterium*-infected colorectal cancer. She has also explored microbial signals in primary and metastatic brain tumors and contributed genomic characterizations of *Fusobacterium watanabei* and *Peptostreptococcus anaerobius* isolates from colonic adenocarcinomas. Her publications appear in leading venues including *Cancer Cell*, *Nature Medicine*, and *Gut Microbes*.
