Steven M. Kornblau is a Professor (with tenure) at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on hematological malignancies, particularly acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myeloid neoplasia, and drug resistance mechanisms. Recent work includes elucidating the role of intracellular IL-23R in mitotic spindle formation in AML, identifying OSMR as a novel blood-based prognostic biomarker, and developing frontline triplet regimens combining hypomethylating agents, venetoclax, and isocitrate dehydrogenase inhibitors for chemotherapy-ineligible patients. His investigations also explore ferroptosis-like phenotypes induced by KDM-family inhibitors and mechanisms of inotuzumab ozogamicin resistance in B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
