Stephen Glatt is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Neuroscience and Physiology, and Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Upstate Medical University. His research integrates psychiatric genetics, biological psychiatry, and molecular psychiatry to elucidate the genetic architecture of schizophrenia and related psychopathology. Recent work employs cross-disorder analyses of copy number variants to identify novel loci and dose-dependent relationships with psychiatric traits, alongside neuroimaging and transcriptomic approaches to predict cognitive resilience in Alzheimer’s disease. He also investigates the metabolic effects of atypical antipsychotics via microRNA regulation and the neurocognitive impacts of hypoxemia from cigarette smoke exposure. His contributions span human genetics, psychopathology, and early-career mentorship in scientific publishing.
