Stephen G. Chun, MD, is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on clinical radiation oncology for thoracic malignancies, including lung cancer, with particular emphasis on optimizing chemoradiation regimens, proton versus photon therapy, and metastasis-directed therapy for oligometastatic disease. He has led and contributed to pivotal trials, including the NRG Oncology/Alliance LU005 trial evaluating chemoradiation with atezolizumab in limited-stage small cell lung cancer and the phase II randomized EXTEND trial. His recent work also addresses minority participation in clinical trials and long-term outcomes comparing proton therapy with intensity-modulated radiotherapy.
