Stacey Doan is a Senior Professor of Psychology at Claremont McKenna College. Her research examines developmental psychopathology, focusing on emotional self-regulation, biobehavioral markers of stress, and the intergenerational transmission of mental health outcomes. Recent work investigates how parenting styles interact with children’s biological sensitivity, the joint effects of cortisol and C-reactive protein on depressive symptoms, and cultural variation in affect valuation. She also studies the impact of childhood poverty and food insecurity on child development, and leads mindfulness-based interventions for high-achieving minoritized students. Her findings have appeared in Psychological Bulletin, Psychoneuroendocrinology, and the Journal of Cognition and Development.
