Sinchita Roy Chowdhuri is a Professor of Pathology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she specializes in cytopathology and molecular diagnostics. Her research focuses on integrating molecular profiling with cytological specimens to advance precision oncology, particularly in non-small cell lung cancer, pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma, and pancreatic cyst fluid analysis. She has pioneered same-day molecular testing for targetable mutations in solid tumors and investigated tumor mutational burden, PD-L1 expression, and oncogenic alterations in cytology samples. Her recent work includes urinary tumor DNA-based liquid biopsy for bladder cancer management and multi-omics biomarker approaches using microRNAs. She has contributed to national guidelines on optimizing cytology specimen processing for ancillary studies and maintains active collaborations across multicenter clinical and translational research initiatives.
