Sinchita Roy-Chowdhuri is a Professor of Pathology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she specializes in cytopathology and molecular diagnostics. Her research focuses on integrating molecular profiling with cytological specimens to advance precision oncology, particularly in non-small cell lung cancer, pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma, and pancreatic cyst fluid evaluation. She has pioneered same-day molecular testing for targetable mutations in solid tumors and led the American Society of Cytopathology taskforce on optimizing specimen processing for ancillary studies. Her recent work explores tumor mutational burden, PD-L1 expression, and oncogenic alterations in cytology specimens, alongside liquid biopsy applications for bladder cancer. She is recognized internationally for her contributions to cancer genetics and diagnostic pathology.
