Sharon Krinsky-McHale is an Adjunct Associate Research Scientist at the Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center, Columbia University. Her research focuses on the intersection of Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and Down syndrome, specifically investigating the neuropathological and cognitive trajectories of aging in this population. Her recent work includes leading the Alzheimer's Biomarker Consortium–Down Syndrome (ABC-DS) 10-year report, predicting amyloid and tau deposition via plasma biomarkers in The Lancet Neurology, and utilizing eye tracking and 7T postmortem MRI to detect early neuropathological changes. She also examines behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia and the genetic modifiers of Alzheimer's risk, such as APOE ε4, in adults with Down syndrome.
