Shahid Iqbal is a High Senior Professor at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. His research integrates chemical engineering, materials science, and sustainable chemistry, focusing on the design of advanced nanomaterials for photocatalysis and spintronics. Recent breakthroughs include the development of dual-doped ZnO nanoparticles for carrier-mediated ferromagnetism, silver nanostructures for antibacterial applications, and ZnO-CuO-Graphene nanocomposites for enhanced photocatalytic degradation. His 2025 work also encompasses high-stability resistive switching memristors for brain-inspired computing and magnetically recyclable LaFeO3-based nanocomposites for solar-driven water treatment. He has pioneered double Z-scheme nanohybrids for rapid antibiotic detoxification and Sm-doped GdFeO3/g-C3N4 heterostructures for industrial dye elimination, advancing inorganic photochemistry and sustainable environmental remediation.
