Selvi Thirumurthi is a Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she specializes in gastrointestinal oncology and endoscopy. Her research focuses on cancer immunology, lymphoid neoplasia, and the molecular pathology of mismatch repair-deficient colorectal carcinogenesis. Her recent work includes leading a phase 1b/2 trial of the Nous-209 neoantigen vaccine for cancer prevention in Lynch syndrome carriers (Nature Medicine, 2026), investigating organ-preserving surgical strategies for Lynch syndrome-associated colorectal cancer (Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2026), and decoding spatial immune microenvironments and T-cell receptor genomic signatures specific to Lynch syndrome (Nature Communications, 2026). She has also explored ctDNA-guided pembrolizumab efficacy in dMMR/MSI-H solid tumors and metabolic determinants of drug-tolerant persister cells in mantle cell lymphoma (Blood, 2025). Her translational research bridges gastroenterology, immunology, and precision oncology.
