Sebastian Mizera is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Columbia University. He earned his BA (Hons) and MMath from the University of Cambridge, followed by a PhD from the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and the University of Waterloo. His research focuses on scattering amplitudes, Feynman integral singularities, and the intersection of quantum field theory with algebraic geometry, particularly exploring the mathematical structures underlying perturbative quantum gravity and string theory. Recent work includes the "Unitarity Flow Conjecture," an on-shell approach to the renormalization group, and the development of SOFIA, an automated tool for analyzing Feynman integral singularities. He has held positions at the Institute for Advanced Study and Princeton University, and has received the Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award and the Wolfram Innovator Award.
