Saumil Gandhi is an Associate Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, specializing in thoracic oncology and radiation oncology. His research focuses on lung cancer treatment, particularly integrating circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and circulating tumor RNA (ctRNA) liquid biopsies with radiomics to predict treatment response and guide personalized therapy. He leads investigations into local consolidative therapy combined with targeted agents like brigatinib for ALK-rearranged non-small-cell lung cancer, and has developed OncoTwin, a multimodal digital twin framework for optimizing trial design. His recent work includes causal AI-based radiomic analysis for patient selection in combined immunotherapy and stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR), as well as authorship of the STS Clinical Practice Guideline on surgical management of oligometastatic NSCLC.
