Sasha H. Shafikhani

Sasha H. Shafikhani is a Senior Professor at Rush University. His research focuses on wound healing, immunology, and infection control, with a particular emphasis on diabetic complications, inflammation, and microbiology. His recent work explores the synergy between the immune system and antibiotics in infection control, and the therapeutic potential of CCL3 and LPS combination therapy to reduce infection and stimulate wound healing in diabetic mice. He has also contributed to tissue engineering, developing bilayer films from decellularized amniotic membranes and nanofibrous bacterial cellulose for skin and corneal repair. His publications appear in journals such as *Frontiers in Immunology*, *Cells*, and the *Journal of Investigative Dermatology*.
