Sajjad Ahmad is a Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he leads research at the intersection of hydrology, environmental engineering, and climate science. His work focuses on water resources sustainability, hydrometeorology, and the application of machine learning and remote sensing to assess water quality parameters, including total suspended solids and dissolved solids in systems such as the Colorado River and Lake Mead. His recent publications also address flood susceptibility modeling and the hydrological impacts of wildfires. He was awarded the prestigious NSF CAREER grant for research on the vulnerability of water infrastructure to climate variability. His extensive international collaborations span institutions across the US, Pakistan, Iran, China, Canada, the UK, South Korea, Australia, Algeria, and Kenya.
