Ronald DePinho is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on tumor biology, oncogenes, and molecular cancer, with recent work elucidating mechanisms of immunogenic cell death and resistance to KRAS-targeted therapies in pancreatic and gastrointestinal cancers. His latest publications include studies on viral mimicry in immunogenic cell death (PNAS, 2026), mitochondrial function in oncogene-ablation-resistant pancreatic cancer cells (Nature, 2026), and therapeutic targeting of the syndecan-1 axis to overcome acquired KRAS resistance (Cell Reports Medicine, 2025). He recently received a 2026 award for prevention of chemotherapy-induced neuronal injury.
