Professor Of Biostatistics In Psychiatry
Robert Ogden is a Professor of Biostatistics in Psychiatry at Columbia University. His research centers on developing advanced statistical methodology for neuroimaging and psychiatry, with a specific focus on hierarchical multivariate analysis and Bayesian modeling of positron emission tomography (PET) data, particularly regarding serotonin 1A receptor binding in major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder. His recent work has investigated the relationship between serotonin 1A receptor binding, cortical thickness, and DNA methylation, while also developing novel functional data analysis tools such as the functional support vector machine and the SiMBA reference tissue model. He has contributed significantly to understanding comorbidity in borderline personality disorder and standardizing nomenclature for molecular connectivity in PET imaging.
