Radhe Mohan is a Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he specializes in radiation oncology and proton therapy. His research focuses on optimizing intensity-modulated proton therapy, with particular emphasis on LET-based optimization, robustness analysis, and proton lineal energy spectra for pediatric brain tumors. He has made significant contributions to understanding radiation-induced lymphopenia in lung cancer patients, developing predictive models that inform adjuvant durvalumab efficacy in unresectable stage III NSCLC. His recent work includes investigating proton FLASH irradiation for musculoskeletal and marrow sparing in juvenile models, with implications for pediatric osteosarcoma. He led a multicentre phase 3 trial comparing proton versus photon radiotherapy for oropharyngeal cancer, published in The Lancet. His research integrates radiation biology with clinical applications, advancing precision oncology through improved toxicity prediction and treatment optimization.
