Pierre T. Moenne-Loccoz is a Professor of Chemical Physiology and Biochemistry at Oregon Health & Science University. His research integrates biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, and molecular biology to investigate redox biology and metalloprotein structure. His recent work focuses on heme protein reactivity, including the characterization of an ultrareduced heme state in myoglobin, well-defined heme peroxynitrite model systems, and the conformational dynamics of PhuS governing heme-responsive DNA binding in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. He also studies nonheme iron nitrosyl complexes and HNO release, nitric oxide/oxygen-binding proteins, and regulatory metalloproteins. His publications appear in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Biochemistry, and the Journal of Biological Chemistry.
