Peter M. Grace is an Associate Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research integrates neuroimmunology and pharmacology to elucidate mechanisms of chronic and neuropathic pain, focusing on macrophage efferocytosis, IgG accumulation via neonatal Fc receptor blockade, and sialylated immunoglobulin G in pain resolution. Recent breakthroughs include demonstrating that peripheral nerve injury impairs efferocytosis to facilitate pain and that FGF13 controls nociceptive signaling in diabetic neuropathy. His work, published in PNAS, the Journal of Clinical Investigation, and Brain Behavior and Immunity, is supported by a $796,399 award investigating Gulf War Illness pain, alongside international multicenter collaborations on peri-surgical analgesia.
