Peter F. Thall is a High Senior Professor of Biostatistics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on Bayesian adaptive clinical trial design, dose-finding methodologies, and biostatistical methods for oncology, with specific applications in radiation oncology, hematology, and pharmacology. His recent work introduces Bayesian phase 1-2 designs with adaptive rules for staggering patient entry, practical guidelines for small randomized oncology trials, and the DEMO framework for dose exploration, monitoring, and optimization using biological and clinical outcomes. He has contributed to clinical studies on high-dose chemotherapy for relapsed germ cell tumors, PARP inhibitor enhancement for refractory lymphoma, and conditioning regimens for allogeneic stem cell transplantation in acute myeloid leukemia. His publications appear in leading journals including the Journal of the American Statistical Association, the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and Blood.
