Paula R. Pohlmann is a Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she specializes in breast oncology and clinical research. Her research focuses on HER2-mutated metastatic breast cancer, neoadjuvant immunotherapy, and immune subtyping in hormone receptor-positive early-stage disease. She has led pivotal trials, including a phase 2 basket trial of tucatinib and trastuzumab and a phase 1 trial of CAR-macrophage therapy for HER2-overexpressing solid tumors. Her recent work also explores telemedicine’s role in expanding access to early-phase oncology trials and spatially resolved multi-omic profiling of BRCA-dependent immune remodeling. She has contributed to consensus guidelines on ocular adverse event reporting and published extensively in Nature Medicine, Cancer Research, and JCO Precision Oncology.
