Keyur P. Patel is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on the genomic and molecular characterization of hematological malignancies, particularly myeloid neoplasia, leukemia, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Recent work includes investigating clonal dynamics of FLT3-ITD positive acute myeloid leukemia post-transplant relapse, incorporating genomic determinants to improve diagnostic accuracy in oligomonocytic chronic myelomonocytic leukemia, and evaluating targeted therapies such as ibrutinib with venetoclax in relapsed/refractory CLL. He also explores tumor mutational burden and PD-L1 expression in solid tumors, alongside mechanisms of topoisomerase inhibitor resistance. His contributions span genetics, immunology, and precision oncology, advancing both diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in cancer research.
