Nicholas Navin is a Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on cancer genomics, tumor biology, and single-cell analysis, with a particular emphasis on breast cancer. His recent work delineates copy-number substructure in metastatic tumors using CopyKit, investigates single-cell DNA methylation in early breast cancer, and characterizes tumor ecosystems in metaplastic breast cancer via single-nucleus RNA sequencing. He has also developed PRECISE, a prognostic gene signature for papillary thyroid carcinoma. His research has been supported by major funding, including a $792,000 award for investigating mutational evolution and intratumor heterogeneity in triple-negative breast cancer.
