Milton Hamblin is a Senior Professor at Xavier University of Louisiana. His research integrates neurology, neurogenetics, and vascular biology, focusing on the molecular mechanisms underlying stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and vascular cognitive impairment. His recent work employs genetic knockout models to elucidate transcriptional regulation in cerebral injury, demonstrating that PPARα deletion exacerbates cerebral infarction, while MMP-3 knockout reduces infarct size in ischemic stroke. He has also identified microRNA-15a/16-1 as a critical modulator of neuropathological recovery in TBI and vascular dementia. His investigations into regulatory non-coding RNAs and blood–brain barrier function have advanced understanding of central nervous system disorders. His findings have been published in journals including *JCI Insight*, *Advanced Science*, and the *International Journal of Molecular Sciences*.
