Michael Overman is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on colorectal cancer, particularly minimal residual disease (MRD) detection via circulating tumor DNA, circulating free RNA as a predictive biomarker for immunotherapy in mismatch-repair-deficient tumors, and clinical predictors of brain metastases. He also investigates molecular subtypes, PI3K mutations with aspirin use, and genomic profiling of appendiceal neoplasms. His recent work includes phase 2 trials combining TAS-102 with celecoxib in ctDNA-defined MRD and AI-powered analyses of symptom presentation. He has received awards for correlative studies of Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitors in pancreatic cancer.
