Miao Zhang is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research integrates surgical pathology, urology, and oncology, focusing on genitourinary cancers, particularly prostate cancer tumor biology and histopathology. Recent work includes investigating KDM4A’s role in promoting neuroendocrine prostate cancer progression via MYC regulation, characterizing immunosuppression in the bone–tumor microenvironment through endothelial-to-osteoblast transition and Wnt-induced M2 macrophage polarization, and clinicopathologic studies of rare urethral adenocarcinoma and bilateral testicular germ cell tumors. She also leads practice surveys on prostate pathology reporting and clinical trials of presurgical androgen deprivation therapy with axitinib in lymph node-metastatic prostate cancer.
