Melissa M. Chen, M.D., is an Associate Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research focuses on neuro-oncologic imaging, radiomics, and the application of advanced medical imaging to head and neck oncology, particularly the radiographic classification and risk-stratification of mandibular osteoradionecrosis. She also investigates the effects of space flight on the lumbar spine using advanced MR imaging and contributes to health policy in neurointerventional surgery. Her recent work includes externally validated digital decision-support tools and prospective multi-observer studies on extranodal extension detection.
