Maryam Modjaz is a Professor of Astronomy at the University of Virginia, where she leads research on the environments of supernovae (SNe) and gamma-ray bursts, the SN-GRB connection, and exotic stellar explosions within time-domain astronomy. Her recent work includes multiwavelength studies of interacting Type IIn and Ibn supernovae to trace progenitor mass-loss histories, JWST observations of the Crab Nebula constraining explosion mechanisms, and synthetic light curves for stripped-envelope supernovae. A Humboldt Foundation Faculty Fellowship recipient, she collaborates extensively with institutions across the US, Europe, Israel, and Asia.
