Mary Frances McAleer is a Professor of Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she specializes in clinical radiation oncology, neuro-oncology, and brain tumor research. Her research focuses on gliomas, meningiomas, and intracranial metastases, with recent work spanning dose escalation using intensity-modulated proton therapy for high-risk meningiomas, stereotactic radiosurgery decision-making for multiple brain metastases, and genomic mutation-driven stratification of response to spine radiosurgery. She has contributed to ASTRO clinical practice guidelines for WHO Grade 4 diffuse glioma and has published on preoperative versus postoperative stereotactic radiation therapy in JAMA Oncology. Her clinical and translational investigations integrate surgical oncology, radiation biology, and genomic profiling to advance personalized treatment strategies for central nervous system malignancies.
