Luigi Ricciardiello is a Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he specializes in gastroenterology and oncology. His research focuses on colorectal cancer biology, molecular gastroenterology, and Lynch syndrome, with particular emphasis on mismatch repair-deficient carcinogenesis, immune microenvironment spatial architecture, and organ preservation strategies. His recent work includes genomic analyses of T-cell receptors revealing Lynch syndrome-specific immune signatures, artificial intelligence applications for precancerous lesion detection in fecal immunochemical test-based screening programs, and patient-reported barriers to endoscopic surveillance among high-risk populations. He has published extensively in leading journals including Nature Communications, Gastroenterology, and the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and maintains international collaborations, notably with Italian screening programs.
