Litong Nie is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research integrates cell and molecular biology, genetics, and genome biology to investigate DNA repair mechanisms, tumor biology, and cancer cell behavior. Recent work includes in vivo CRISPR activation screens identifying drivers of bone metastasis, the role of CHK1 in DNA replication, and the function of USP37 in protecting damaged replication forks in BRCA1-deficient cells, contributing to PARP inhibitor resistance. Her laboratory also explores protein modification systems as cancer biomarkers and therapeutic targets, as well as the mechanisms of ferroptosis.
