Like Li is an Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Florida, following an M.S. from Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics and a B.S. from Central South University. His research focuses on applied physics and thermal engineering, specifically high-temperature thermochemical energy storage, particle-based reactors, and heat transfer in granular flows. His recent work includes continuum modeling of moving-bed oxidation reactors and generative machine learning for grain boundary network evolution in nanomaterials. He received the NSF RII Track-4 award (2021) for understanding reaction-transport coupling in thermochemical storage systems. Li collaborates extensively with institutions across the US, Europe, Asia, and Oceania, including the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and The University of Melbourne.
