Li Ma is a Senior Professor at Morehouse School of Medicine. Her research focuses on immunology, cell biology, and infectious diseases, with a particular emphasis on host-pathogen interactions in tuberculosis and inflammation. Her recent work has identified ZDHHC2-mediated autophagic degradation of B-RAF and C-RAF as a mechanism promoting antimycobacterial responses in macrophages, and has explored how MCT4 facilitates Mycobacterium tuberculosis survival via NF-κB-mediated IL-10 production. She also investigates melanoma biology, including CDC25A inhibition sensitization to doxorubicin and NK cell therapy, and mechanisms of radioresistance and vemurafenib resistance through LINC01198-Hippo signaling. Her research integrates innate immune signaling, cell cycle regulation, and clinical microbiology to advance therapeutic strategies against infectious diseases and cancer.
